History, You look pretty good when you are all craftily rewritten to make frightful things appear so good.I happen to be a former and by the grace of God never to be again Roman Catholic and it has puzzled me for quite some time why the Roman Catholic Religion has had such venom for Martin Luther and hardly a comment about the "Pope of Geneva" Why do you think that is? Perhaps they share alot more in common than they both would like us to know. This I do know that many professing themselves to be Calvinists have "dialogues" with Roman Catholics when Scripture says, Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. Now you don't begin to tell me the RC Religion is faithful to what Scripture says of Christ do you. Why then would some of your beloved 'Calvinists' invite them in for dialogue? Makes me think something is amiss from Geneva, Think! Pathfinder |

Teddy TX, Does the Pope know he is doing Satan's work? Think about this:For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Hold, or surpressing, the truth in unrighteousness speaks volumes here regarding the Roman Catholic Religion and its supression of the truth. Even in their own Catechism when they list the 10 Commandments their listing erases the commandment against making idols and divides the thenth against coveting into 2 separate ones. So you tell me does the Pope know what he is doing? Pathfinder |

Yamil Luciano,You can call me Pathfinder. I'll use it in my posts. And as to Lurker's concern he is right in the sense that we should guard against getting in the flesh but that can work both ways either in being too harsh and damning or be too gentle and soft cowardly accepting. He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD. Pro 17:15 Pathfinder |

pezz US,Quote He's (Rick Warren)just one man preaching the whole counsel of the Word of God, of course you'd know that if you would do your homework before becoming a critic. End of quote Richard Bennett quotes Rick Warren and then makes the following staggering observation Rick Warren: “He [God] created the church to meet your five deepest needs: a purpose to live for, people to live with, principles to live by, a profession to live out, and power to live on. There is no other place on earth where you can find all five of these benefits in one place.” Richard Bennett Warren is dead wrong in his list of “deepest needs”. On the authority of the Bible, the first and foremost need of any man is perfect righteousness before the All Holy God. It is Christ Jesus’ righteousness alone that God will accept as a propitiation for any man’s sin and sin nature. This primary need of man is constantly shown in the Bible but Warren does not even mention this foundational truth in his list of “deepest needs”. So much for whatever homework you may have done to imagine that Rick Warren is preaching anything close to the whole counsel of God. |

pezz US, Your are absolute right there is no secret instructions about "throwing out" Christians who disagree. It is one of the first key beliefs of Rick Warren he tells ministers in his first book The Purpose Driven Church. But perhaps since you want to be open minded about this issue you might want to consider from the very start Rick Warren misses Jesus's Purpose when he neglects what Jesus said about being Salt and Light (Sermon on the Mount Matt 5,6,7)and how Jesus emphasised the Word of God, What God Himself taught in Scripture as being of extreme importance. You do know Rick Warren doesn't begin to teach anything like or with anything approaching the attitude of Christ or those God used to write the Bible. For example Rick Warren's god seems so loving of everyone And Non Judgemental. This is a heinous distortion of the Love of God which cannot possibly be understood in the least apart from first understanding how much God truly hates sin because it it evil and the source of all evil, suffering, and death anyone has ever experienced or will and rightfullly demands His punishment. Read the book of James and you might just see if you are open minded enough that to break 1 of the 10 Commanments is to be guilty of all. Rick Warren hasn't warned you has he? |

Bandicoot, KK, Actually the Scriptures, the Word of God is Truth. Someone like Pink may come to some excellent observations from the Bible but we should never let the very best teachings of truly Godly men replace Scripture.I very much like what Jesus said (you all do know that He knows far more than Pink, Spurgeon, Whitefield put together), "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." |

To Believers, Are we touching some of Satan's sensitive areas that he needs to bring in mockers to distract us (as if we needed any distraction) ex. of his sensitivesThat Church leadership actual hold to the Word of God, which very much tells us sister b.a. that we treat you, and all women with respect as Christ died for you ever bit as much as He did for us. But also if we honestly look at the Reformation even with its 'leaders' every bit fallible unlike the Catholic Popes (who were not even close) we should see how important Scripture is. I know being raised Catholic they didn't want us reading the Bible for ourselves, nor making our faith in Christ personal, trusting that He would save us if we would repent and call upon His name. And believers baptism, talk about something that would really upset them and demonstrate to them you had rejected their Pope, their Virgin Mary, their Purgatory and their sacred Tradition it could be viewed as being in their sight a heretic like John Huss (they burned Him at the stake about 100 years before Luther if you didn't know). I believe Satan hates the Truth especially when he sees the saints living by it, living by the Word of God. |
