Great Sermon! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS SERMON THAT TURNED MY WATER OF UNDERSTANDING OF THIS MIRACLE TO WINE. (IVE ALWAYS WONDERED THE FULL MEANING OF THIS EVENT AND REV GREER HAS MADE IT VERY CLEAR AND INSPIRING)
Great Sermon! In light of the current volatile world situation, Pastor Greer focuses on what the preacher of the gospel should focus on preaching--the gospel. Praise God, that this is peace that the world cannot give anyone.
Great Sermon! Pastor Greer does a fabulous job of answering the popular notion that the sons of God were angels. Holding fast to the Reformation principle of the plain reading being the preferred reading of the text, he proves the traditional understanding of Genesis 6. Job well done!
Great Sermon! This sermon clearly teaches that the Christian has a federal life in Christ, and is legally one with Him, and that before he was conscious of being an object of Divine Love. When Christ died His people died, when Christ was quickened His people were quickened "together with Him" In Christ, and by His obedience, the Law is fulfilled in every Christian.
There is no other basis for justification of any man, but through the substitutionary sacrifice, and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.I would encourage every Christian to listen to this sermon and be blessed, since it exalts Christ.
Great Sermon! Rev Greer has made it clear from this lecture that God's covenant is a unilateral covenant, man has no imput into it. Man being totally depraved can add nothing.
Great Sermon! Haven't attended church faithfully? This sermon effectively demonstrates scripturally why you should not neglect to do so. His servant, Dan
Great Sermon! Christ, the "Shepherd of our soul". Thank God for the Gospel in its simple form, preached with Holy Ghost power. Christ came to the sinner, not the so called religious leders, Salvation is found in Him alone and not man's doctrine.
Listen and learn.May we have a passion for the souls of the lost. To the least of these.
Listen to this message and then read your Bible & pray. (or , better yet, read & pray first). This is a wonderful message on the importance of our attention to God's Word.
I was encouraged to hear my former pastor, Mr. Greer, speak of how the Lord moved him to preach this message on this date (2-JUN-02). I find it interesting because I was to preach a message on the same passage (Nehemiah 8) the week before (26-MAY-02), but was prevented (I believe by the Lord) and ended up bringing it on the same day as Mr. Greer.
This message wonderfully sets forth the unity of true believers in the Savior, the centrality of Christ, and the authority of the Word in our worship of Him.
Our family continues to pray for the Greer family (we miss you all) and for the Lord's work in Ballymena.
We will endeavor to keep the upcoming Bible Conference at Ballymena FPC before the Lord in prayer, too. We have every confidence that our Lord can use Mr. Cairns powerfully during that week. He has been well used in the past.
It is good for us to be reminded - as Mr. Greer has reminded us in this message - to pray for the preaching of the Word in every instance which He arranges for its exposition.
Great Sermon! Here is the poem Mr. Greer referred to in this message:
THE BIBLE AND THE TV GUIDE
The Bible and the TV Guide
On the table side by side.
The Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
One is well worn, but cherished with pride
(not the Bible but the T.V. Guide)
One is used daily to help folk decide.
No! it isn’t the Bible, it’s the T. V. Guide.
As pages are turned, what shall they see?
Oh what does it matter, turn on the T.V.
Then confusion reigns, they can’t all agree.
On what they should watch on the old T.V.
So they open the book in which they confide
(not the Bible but the T. V. Guide)
The Word of God is seldom read.
Maybe a verse before they fall into bed.
Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be.
Not from reading the Bible but from watching T.V.
So then back to the table, side by side
Is the Holy Bible and the T.V. Guide.
No time for prayer, no time for the Word.
The plan for salvation is seldom heard.
Forgiveness of sin so full and free.
Is found in the Bible and not on T.V.

Great Sermon! Excellent sermon!!! Rom 3:4 comes to mind, "Let God be true and every man a liar"; also 1 Cor 2:13; to compare spiritual things with spiritual. Let us be on guard and search the scriptures like the BEREANS to see if these things be so. Acts 17:11; My SHEEP hear my voice, Jn 10:27; and TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!
Great Sermon! This sermon is an outstanding examination of a familiar passage in Luke. As we listen, we are encouraged to focus on the greatest and deepest truths of this passage. The issues generally associated with the Sabbath are very important, of course; but this sermon reminds us that the greatest need and the most vital issue is that of spiritual freedom! This sermon can transform our understanding of the power and virtue of Christ.
I'll look forward to the rest of this series!! Such a well organized, well presented introduction to the Gospel according to Luke. I look forward , in the will of the Lord, to hearing the rest of this series.
Great Sermon! I was delighted to hear this sermon played. I greatly enjoy listening to Pastor Greer and appreciate his thorough searching out and presentation of the Holy Scriptures.
