CHRIST'S PARABLES -- A MEANS OF SEPARATING !! When Jesus had finished this parable (The Draw-Net), He said to his disciples, "Have ye understood all these things?" and they answered "Yea, Lord." All who are followers of Christ are to be paying strict attention to The Master's teachings because we, being human, do not always understand the things of God. We need to diligently search the Scriptures and fervently pray, asking God for understanding. And, we should take advantage of the tools that God provides, including carefully listening to Spirit-filled, Spirit-led preachers. And, Pastor Greer is one of those! By resorting to parables, Jesus effectively divided the truth-seekers from the curiosity-seekers! Seekers after The Truth (Christ) would say to Him, "Explain to us the parable..."(Matt. 13:36). Whereas, those who were simply curious, quickly turned away. The 'tell-tale sign' of a disciple of Christ is that they "hunger and thirst" after Him. And, I happily add that Jesus said, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for THEY SHALL BE FILLED" (Matt. 5:6).
Awesome Preaching! This is one of the best sermons ever preached!
Convicting and yet full of comfort, this preaching is, sadly, rare in too many churches in my area.
Yet God the Holy Spirit has seen fit to use Rev. Greer to bless His Word and to really feed the deep longings of my soul.
For that, I remain a faithful listener, halfway around the world.
Miracles of Jesus not recorded in Scriptures. There are other miracles performed by the Lord and by the apostles which are not recorded in the Scriptures. If we are affirming that the special revelation is written in the Scriptures, then these other miracles are not special revelation.
Miracles today? Marks of special revelation: it is supernatural, it is written, it is redemptive in scope, it is complete. Sine the miracles were a means of special revelation, the healing that God performs today in response to the prayers of the church is not a miracle in the biblical sense, but providential mercy. I never understood this before. I give thanks to the Lord and to the speaker for this light!
Revelation of grace. Speaking about the special revelation, God revealed Himself through theophany, prophecy and miracles. Their scope is the revealing of God's plan of redemption.
Place of miracles. A message about the general (natural) revelation and the special revelation. We must speak about miracles in the framework of the special, redemptive revelation.
How many miracles? Good message about the biblical sense of the word miracle, about the occurrence of the miracles in Scriptures. I liked especially the explanation, in the context, of John 20:30.
I OWN THIS PEARL !! When I tasted Christ who is The Word of God, my appetite for the world was permanently destroyed. "How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way" (Ps.119:103-104). My heart is made right by MY CONTINUAL FEEDING ON THE WORD OF GOD("Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path"). I have no desire for the world's junk-food anymore. My soul craves Christ only!! The Righteous One is worthy of diligent search and the giving up of all to obtain Him.
Great man of prayer. Insight in the prayer life of Paul. His love for God and for the church, His dedication to the heavenly vision are depicted here.
Great work of the Holy Spirit. I thank the Lord for this message. I really needed to be addressed from verse 2. Great work of the Holy Spirit, who moved the hearts of the children of Israel to cry for the Lord after 20 years. The return to the Lord included lamentation and separation.
A must hear for anyone suffering.. I've been disabled for 15 years with a raft of multiple illnesses and have struggled long and hard with this area as a result, especially with coming out of a hypercharismatic church which taught the exact errancies mentioned in this sermon. Having just spent an hour with my church prayer team this morning working through many of them, this sermon was used mightily by the Lord to confirm what I have been straining hard to hear - that I am NOT ill because of sin and that I may NOT be healed if it is not His Will. But I still have many issues to contend with that now need to be dealt with. This sermon has however, encouraged me yet further of His work in my life for healing in whatever way that will come (physical, emotional, spiritual etc).
Definitely one to hear if you equally struggle with reconciling your faith with your ill-health.
Great Sermon! Men who say that their salvation and relationship with God is a "personal and private matter" are either unsaved or ashamed of the gospel (loving the glory of men rather that the Glory which comes from God). Scripture commands believers to proclaim the riches of God's glorious grace through Jesus Christ. How can we say that we have the love of God in us and not let others the Truth. Listen and be blessed!
another sermon on perfecting holiness http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=117071321172 Listed above is a sermon of perfecting holiness and wonderfully gives comfort to looking to Christ.
Great Sermon! Excellent sermon! Thank you Reverend Greer! We are living in a very antinomian age, and this message is very much needed to remind us of the need for practical Godly living - holiness before the LORD. Let us continue to worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!
