2011 marks the 60th anniversary of the founding the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster & 400th anniversary of the translation of the Authorised Version of the Scriptures.
In our present circumstances the words Psalm 60:1 are very appropriate: O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
In the midst of victory, as indicated by the title of the Psalm, David acknowledges the existence of the spiritual cycle when God's presence and power will not be known to the same extent.
He sets forth the reasons for this - God is displeased with His people and he sets forth the remedy - we must cry unto Him to turn again unto us. |
