George Müller and Prevailing Prayer
John 14:13-14, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” George Müller was a Prussian-born English evangelist and Christian worker with orphans. A man of faith and prayer, he established orphanages in Bristol and founded the Scriptural Knowledge Institution for Home and Abroad. He died this day (10th March) in 1898 aged 92.
He listed five conditions of prevailing prayer.
1. Entire dependence upon the merits and mediation of the Lord Jesus Christ, as the only ground of any claim for blessing.
