Pastor Edward Donnelly

“ Great Sermon! ”
I found this series several years ago and have listened to it 6 times since then. Pastor Donnelly's sermons have always been a blessing to me. His uncompromising teaching of the Word is accompanied by compassion, sincerity and due diligence. I have literally listened to every sermon of his that I can find and I thank God for such men.

“ Good clear and helpful ”
Excellent and timely message, in a day and age when far few churches seem to take this kind of thing very seriously.

“ Fantastic ”
Excellent message about Luther's devotion to hymnody and how important hymns are not just for the times of saints gathering for worship, but for the blessing and edification of singing hymns in the home with children. Wonderful message.

You might want to take a fresh look at David Wilkerson's The Vision (you can find the audio on Youtube). What he said about this sort of thing and compromise is absolutely accurate. Chilling. There is a true Church and there is a harlot Church. What he have here is an example of the latter, obviously.

“ Great Sermon! ”
We very much enjoy Joelee's telling of the story of Jonah. We'll be bringing this one and some of the others into some of our children's programs at church.

Sermon:
Rape and Revenge in the Bible
John Schortmann

comment
“ Excellent message ”
I understand that this is not an easy passage to address, but Pastor Schortmann does an excellent job of emphasizing that God uses broken, undeserving people for his redemptive purposes. Why such a dark event was allowed to unfold in a situation like this is not easy to understand, but I believe that, as the sermon addresses, the horror of rape, the failure of Jacob as a father, the faults of Jacob's sons in seeking a vicious revenge, and ultimately in light of such a bleak situation how there is still grace and redemption. This is a hard passage of Scripture, but this sermon helps with some illumination.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I have listened to this sermon 6 times in the past few months and several of my friends have listened to it more than once. Voddie has so tightly packed truth in this sermon that it takes a while to fully unpack it.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Bigger issue with colleges isn't just a man or woman taking classes, but rather the fact that Christians get just as carried away with the thinking of "sending away" their children to a college, and then letting the state school indoctrinate them for 4 years.

“ Great Sermon! ”
While I think there are some good points made here, the problem I find is that there's the other side of the two-kingdom mindset, which tends to be more of a theocratic direction. When Jesus showed the denarius to the Pharisees, it was to draw a clear distinction between the earthly kingdom and the heavenly one.

I do not understand what non Christians who want to disprove the bible and creation are doing on a Christian site. The sermons etc here are free to enjoy so when u comment can you keep it clean and treat others with respect. Keep ur spewing to ur secular sites or if u are desperate to comment then find an evolution supporting forum and practice it there.

“ Keller is confused ”
Keller was waffling, period. Giving him the benefit of the doubt is exercising too much liberty. The question is asked: does homosexuality send one to hell? The simple answer is yes. I'm not so sure why this is confusing. Now, let's add to this equation: does homosexuality send a repentant, gospel believing homosexual to hell? No, it does not. Why not? Because of repentance and faith in the gospel. Further, does a life ruled by homosexuality send one to hell? Paul says yes, in accordance with 1 Cor 6:9-10. Why is this so? Because the homosexuals life is ruled by homosexuality (sin), and this calls one's faith into question. A willful following of sin is far different than a daily fight against sin which results in failure. With the equation that I presented above, replace "homosexuality" with "any sin", and the formula still fits.

Amen! I hope this happens. We need the fear of God in this nation. I also pray that all pornography will be criminalized.
