Until the time that his great trial began, Job considered that he had gained great knowledge of God and of the truth. He had studied much of the natural world and had learned about the processes that were at work in God's creation. But his tribulation brought him to realize that he knew next to nothing, in reality, about God and about God's dealings with him. With all that Job had learned, he still asked the question as to where wisdom was to be found. The answer to that question takes us away from every answer to be found in this world. Those are truly wise who have the wisdom of God, and those who have the wisdom of God are those who fear the Lord and who depart from evil.
