One of the greatest comforts for the servants of God is that the message they have been given to proclaim will have the impact that God has designed it to create. The public and private ministry of the Word, then, is not an exercise in vanity or despair. Many of the prophets knew that their messages would not be fulfilled until long after their lifetimes in this world, but they continued to proclaim the Word with the assurance that it would come to pass. So it must be with the servants of God in every age, whether in the pulpit, the home, or the workplace. The testimony of God's Word will bear its intended fruit. It will be a savor of life unto life or of death unto death. Let every person who hears the Word of God be careful about the response to that Word.
