In the famous Resurrection chapter, the inspired Apostle Paul addressed the situation in which some people in the church at Corinth were wavering on the doctrine of the resurrection, not so much of Christ, but of Christ's people. He argued in the first part of the chapter that to deny the doctrine of the resurrection for Christ's people was to deny it for Christ as well, and doing so would reduce Christianity to vanity. But in this passage, the Apostle expounded the truth about the change that would occur in the bodies that would be raised from the dead. They would no longer be the natural bodies that had been buried. They would still be bodies, able to be touched, but they would be characterized by the spirit. Only in that way could the believers become immortal and enjoy the presence of Christ forever.
