At the end of the psalm that deals with the works of the Lord and the place of protection that the Lord is for His people, He exhorts His people and all the world to remember that He alone is sovereign over the universe, and that His purposes will be achieved, even in spite of the efforts of people to have their own way. It is an exhortation for the people of God that God is still the source of hope and confidence, even in the face of turmoil. There is a way to be at ease in the world when everything appears to be crumbling. It is to stop the frenetic activity and to engage again in the contemplation of God's sovereignty and power and the certain accomplishment of God's purpose.
