The church of Jesus Christ has been called to be identified with Him and to be willing to bear the reproach with which the world has treated Him. There is reproach to be borne in connection with the defense of the Scriptures, reproach to be borne in connection with a position of personal and ecclesiastical separation, and reproach in connection with identification with the only Redeemer of God's elect. To listen to the counsel and desires of weak evangelicals would lead the church to back off from its mission of proclaiming the truth of the Gospel in all of its offensiveness to human pride. As this church looks to its 23rd year of ministry, it is resolved to continue following Christ's command and to stand with Him, whatever the cost of that stand may be.
