I realize there are godly people in the Chicago area, but frankly it is the "progressive" wicked liberals in Chicago who are foisting this wickedness upon us. I have no use at all for Gov. Quinn, Speaker Madigan or any of the other depraved politicians seeking to tyrannize tax paying citizens in our state.
Please forgive my crude language, but I'm mad enough to spit and it's been awhile since I've reached this boiling point.

Dear Strat,
I'm not certain I can answer your question in this format to your satisfaction, but I'll try to explain my comment more fully. I have found in my years of Christian activism that when the culture or earthly powers that be try to stamp out Christianity, God's people rise to the occasion and in doing so they bring glory to God. They do this by resisting the wicked - even if it means they suffer for it. I hope this helps explain my comment posted previously.

You're welcome Penny! Yesterday IL passed legislation making same-sex 'marriage' legal. In response, I have complete peace of mind because I know God has permitted this for His glory. I also have doubled my efforts at exposing and resisting evil - I'm not throwing in the towel. I'll go down fighting.

I don't want to sound insensitive, and the good Lord knows I've never experienced anything like the North Korean Christians do, but America just might begin persecuting us if we don't "resist evil." Our nation was founded by Christians (for the most part) to serve as a 'city shining on a hill.' Yes, God is all we need, but we also have a responsibility to do what we can to insure religious liberty and freedom for future generations; I truly worry about what the future holds for our children and grandchildren. May God help us to stand strong and not throw away what others have sacrificed to give us.

If these "pastorette's" are so happy serving in a man's role, then why do most of them have men's haircuts? And if this one sees no harm in women preaching sermons, why does she have tattoo's and language like a sailor? She clearly has an identity crisis and is to be pitied.

The church I belong to had been part of the apostate UCC (same denomination that produced Barak Obama) for fifty years and did not know how far from Scripture they had strayed. But once they found out, they left the denomination (2005) and are returning to Scripture and their Reformation roots.

Some folks in small town and rural America belong to historic churches that have united with apostate denominations (ex. UCC) and they aren't completely aware of how reprobate they've become (ex. frog in boiling water). So, while some of us are aware of who the apostates are, others need to be warned. SA isn't into sensationalism or publicity for reprobates, but they do provide this news service to keep us, their community of readers, informed. In conclusion: If you don't like an article posted - don't read it.

At one time it was honorable to be a graduate of West Point.

Why do I feel like I'm watching the fall of Rome? Could it be due to our nation embracing perversion? And just who is this little pastorette performing the "ceremony"? In God's eyes this is not only an abomination, but also a big joke. He created and instituted marriage and it wasn't between Adam and Steve. Try as hard as this trio might, they cannot change God's law on what constitutes holy matrimony.

"If successful, the case would establish new religious rights in the workplace and could lead to other Christians refusing to work on the Sabbath." (from the article)

Just thought I would post this excerpt because our culture is becoming more anti-Christ and hostile to Christians every day; I truly tremble for the future. Folks, if we don't get on the offensive, we are going to face harsh persecution - and this will not only effect us, but our children and grandchildren as well. May God have mercy and wake-up His church. In Lord Jesus Name I pray, amen.

Good! Glad to see Christians taking a stand and if needed, legal action as well.

I haven't closely read the comments posted, but let's remember that not all Christians can live according to God's Word 100% of the time. There are many factors involved here that we just don't know... I believe it was Elizabeth Elliot who counseled Christian women to submit to their husbands and this included working outside the home if he requests it. And if a woman is single she really should have some work to do rather than be idle, IMO.

Let's not lose sight of how dangerous Charismatic theology can be, especially for new believers who don't know their Bible well. John MacArthur is one of the Bible teachers the good Lord used to deliver me from wacky Charismatic teachings over 15 years ago. Mark Driscoll would do well to read MacArthur's books and repent of his wrong teaching and practices.

With all the battles Christians have to fight, being included in an anti-Christ gov't school "Christ-mass" production shouldn't be one of them. Let's move on to more important matters, please. Thanks.
On second thought, as much as I like gov't school board meetings, I hope they have a large turnout and the Christians give them heaven.

My understanding of Scripture (2nd Commandment in particular) is that we aren't to have images or try to depict God in any shape or form. Perhaps there should be some outrage over depicting Jesus on a billboard period.

Okay folks... Let's give the man a break as Nancy suggests... Moderation is the key. I will give Mr. Robertson the benefit of the doubt and assume this is what he meant. One can make food their idol not only by gluttony, but also with being preoccupied about its content, calories, etc.

Strange thing happened when I woke up this morning... The Fed's shut down and all is well in Southern Illinois. One major news event reported is folks will have to postpone visiting the St. Louis Arch. I wonder if St. Louis will survive the loss of tourism? Perhaps the Cards will make up for it.

My favorite brand of pasta... Think I'll buy some more today! Oops! Sorry he backtracked... Maybe I'll pass on the pasta.

While I wasn't at the meeting where the parent was manhandled and treated disrespectfully, I can well believe that the school board acted offensively toward this man, the students and taxpaying citizens they are supposed to be acting on behalf of... I was a gov't school board member and witnessed the disdain shown for any parent that dares question the educational elite. Parents, please wake up and remove your children from the God-forsaken gov't schools.

I think there's truth in every comment submitted so far... Dr. Mercola is right on in many instances, but sadly does share some new age thinking with his readers. His reports on psychotropic drugs and their harmful effects are of great value and should be read by Christians. Anyone suffering from mental illness will benefit from Bible study, prayer and good teaching. Sadly, there are some Charismatics who will take advantage and do much harm through their wacky teaching and theology.

Why doesn't Rick Warren read his Bible and get to the heart of the matter instead of trying to be like the liberal progressives? If he wants to get involved in social issues, then why not try to abolish prenatal baby murder? Oh, that isn't exactly a popular thing to do in our "politically correct" society, is it?
