"FreeWilly Person",So would you say a preacher is wrong to preach to people, "Repent!" Isn't that something they might do in response to the message preached? I can almost see it now. Bring them before the civil magistrates! Why! Would crime have they done? No crime something far worse! What could be worse? Heresy! Heresy! That is very serious, serious enough to burn! What did they do? They heard the message of Christ. Yes! And did they blaspheme Him? No! They repented! Repented!!! You mean they thought there was something they had to do to be saved??? Yes! And they told me they believed too! Believed too!!! Where is the firewood how dare we allow such Arminians (whatever that means) to continue to breath. by the way have you? That's why, Ye must be born again. |

Yamil, DB, I have to confess to you. Yamil please let MBL know too that I am impressed with someone like b.a. who humbly expresses her appreciation that God saved her from her sins. Also with men like Spurgeon and Whitefield who preached that the lost might be saved. Or someone like Ian Paisley or Alan Cairns, not perfect men, but men nevertheless who preach about holiness and prayer and revival. Yes, I like men like Paul Washer and his "Shocking Youth Message" or Jim Berg and his message of "More Than Enough Hope" too. Why these men might not even be Calvinists. But that is not the point. Don't we just have to appreciate those who are thankful to God Who gave His Only Begotten Son that Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life? Pathfinder |

Joe Calgary Alberta, "I know the truth hurts...." This part of your statement I highly agree with and it is here that you might want to do some reconsidering. It hurt to realize how much I had sinned against God, against Jesus Christ and even today there are times when I fail Him and it about rips my heart out when I realize it and makes me want to cry out for His forgiveness like David did in Psalm 51. b.a. has this kind of attitude but you and some who also hold to the 5 Points don't seem to at all, Why is that? You give the impression that what is really serious, awful, deserving to be burned at the stake is not that we have sinned against Christ, breaking the 10 Commandment, living wickedly and vilely and every bit without excuse but that we have "sinned" against "Calvinism", there is quite a difference here, think. And you want us to believe you are regenerated by the Holy Spirit? If you speak with the tongues of men and of angels and hold not the beliefs of 5 point Calvinism you've become what? Joe, you just might want to take another look a the CHANGE that happens in an individual when they are born again. If you aint changed you're still lost. That's why, Ye must be born again. |

Arthur Scotland, I'll not be too quick to buy into Dort, Thankyou. After all "the decks where stacked" with Calvinists and therefore it is not suprising what came out was Calvinism. As to personal testimony I live in the US and grew up a Yankee in the North before living in the South. This experience allowed me to appreciate how some people in the Civil War choose to fight against their brothers to free people of another race from slavery Because It Was Wrong! While at the same time or in some instances today some people refuse to ever go against their own race even when they are quite wrong. I believe we have both made comments to a certain individual who refuses to part with his beloved Roman Catholic Church even though he acknowledges many things he himself knows are wrong. Arthur, I believe there is a significant difference between what we can see in Scripture of Jesus Christ and the apostles and the early Church and what they taught and how they lived and what we see today in the claims of Calvinism. I am still learning in all this but thankfully by God's grace I have confidence I can trust His Word no matter what men might say. |

Of course Benedict XVI want to build bridges with Muslims. Offically they worship the same "god".Quote From Catechism of the Catholic Church Officially Approved by Pope John Paul II 841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.” End of Quote Apparently for all their "sacrd Tradition" and their supposed "apostolic succession" the leadership of the Roman Catholic Religion cannot get it right on who God is, He is NOT Allah, thankyou very much, and Allah is NOT the LORD, Jehovah, thankyou very much again. But Satan apparently loves lies and has great power to deceive those who reject the authority of Scripture. |
