Great Sermon! As an ex-catholic mercifully brought to the sterling knowledge and understanding of grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone, this apostasy devastates my heart.
sound or merely 'sound'? The gift of prophecy has ceased in so far as it is considered new revelation. There are, of course, those that speak forth the Word of God (from the Bible-the completed word/revelation of God). Tongues have ceased, clearly, as stated from those who rightly divide the Word. One receives the Holy Spirit when they believe and have placed their trust in our Lord and Savior. There is no needed experience of receiving the Holy Spirit there after.
Those who complain about the comments of others "adding to" or "provoking discussion" are themselves guilty.
It's always pleasing to hear sound sermons and to read those who are sound in their understanding and not just "sound" or, in the case of the misused concept of tongues, just desiring to make sound (gibberish) to feed their overinflated sense of self. Tongues were to edify the church then and not to edify oneself.
Biblical arguments. Very good the biblical arguments for believer's baptism. I am thankful that this preacher showed clearly the teaching of Scripture. I do not agree with the open view on baptism on regard of church membership.
Great study. This was a very useful message for me. Very goos presentation of Fundamentalism, Liberalism and Neo-evangelicalism. God calls us to separation for Himself and for the Gospel.
