Five years after the attacks on the United States by Muslim terrorists plunged the country into what appears to be World War III, it is important for us to reflect on the lessons from that day, not only in terms of our responsibilities as citizens of the United States but also as citizens of the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. Clearly, those who would suffer from the delusion that there is no real war going on need to be awakened to face the reality that those who adhere to historic Islam have decided to wage war against the West in general and against Christianity in particular. This war, in the language of the 9/11 Commission's report, was going on for a long time before the United States realized that fact. The enemy is implacable and is resolved on the destruction of everything that is not according to its vision of historic Islam. Therefore, it is important for the people of God to understand the nature of the enemy, to remember the sacrifices already made in the war against that enemy, and to resolve to remain true to the truth of Christ, whatever the cost. Here is the best way for the followers of Christ to remember 9/11.
