Last Sunday night we thought about the fact that all who are just are sons of God and all who are sons of God are led by the spirit. This time we are looking at the experiential application of the text. How can we know we are being led by the Spirit? First we will look at our text with a doctrinal grasp. Where does the Spirit lead us to?
1. Conviction The Spirit convicts us of sin. When we are converted, we feel the pain of sin all the more.
2. Confession The Spirit leads us to confess Jesus as Lord.
3. Conformity The Spirit leads us to hate sin and love God more.
Second, we will look at a practical application of our text.
1. Warning If we have more then a majority of born again Christians, why are all the sins in the world continuing to advance? We must not let these things continue.
2. Aid to Our Assurance Our assurance must always be in Christ: his person and his finished work. We are aided in our assurance by our knowledge of the Spirit's work in us.
