Solomon the King of Israel lived a life of wine, women and song. He forgot about the Lord and yet he was able to build buildings and gardens and amass wealth and form orchestras and he was a success in the terms that most people would count success today. Yet as he looked back on his life he said that all he had sought for was vanity. Yet there are multitudes who are seeking to gain satisfaction in the things Solomon found only vain. It would be good for us to learn from what Solomon says. What a tragedy to come to the end of your life and find you have lived a meaningless life.
