During the past week a production company has been filming a so called reality TV programme in the village of Gardenstown for the United Kingdom braodcaster ITV. The show entitled The Baron, brought three celebrities into the village to battle it out for the barony title. Among the contestants was Malcolm McLaren who was manager of 70's punk band The Sex Pistols. During the Harbour Gala on Wednesday past, Mr McLaren enraged many members of the community when he erected a tent at the Gala with a sign containing the words SINNERS TENT. He then proceeded in his speech to encourage young people to take drugs and engage in immoral behaviour and made a mockery of the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. To their credit many of the young people who were listening started chanting for Mr McLaren to be removed. He was escorted off the stage and left the village and the show. The small and scenic fishing village of Gardenstown has witnessed firsthand the manipulated unreality of reality TV. In this message Rev Hughes relates the protest which he made to the producers and examines these events in the light of the Word of God.
