"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
It doesn't get simpler yet any more profound than this. This is what the Christian's life and death is really all about. There's nothing more important than this.
Because if to you “to live” is not “Christ,” and “to die,” is not “gain,” then to you “to live” is self, and “to die,” is loss.
You never want to rest until you can honestly say, “To me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. My sinful self still plagues me. My love for Christ is often cold. Unbelief still works in my heart. I sometimes doubt Him who's never given me one reason to doubt Him. But I can say before the Lord, Living for Christ is real living; and my death will not be loss, but gain in every way.”
