Are we living lives pleasing to God? In this message, we will look at two different matters concerning pleasing God.
1. The matter of expressed inability - stated Those in the flesh cannot live lives pleasing to God. - qualified This does not mean that those in the flesh cannot do good things. Sinners CAN do good things. - explained However, those in the flesh will not do things pleasing to God. - applied Therefore, praying, fasting, and other religious activities by those who are in the flesh does not please God.
2. The matter of implied ability Believers are not in the flesh. Therefore, by the grace of God, Christ's death on the cross, and the work of the Spirit, the believer can live a life pleasing to God. The moment we are converted we are able to please the Lord. Instead of hating the commands of God, we love His commands.
In this message, there is a word to lost souls. If you want to please God, you must be born again.
There is also a word to child of God. We must have a proper spiritual self esteem. We have worth because of Christ's work. Also, when we think we CANNOT please God, we must remember that we absolutely CAN through God's grace.
