They say that the institutional Church has really undermined the prominence that Mary Magdalene actually had. However Scripture does not hesitate to give Mary Magdalene a leading role where she had one. Scripture does not give her the role Dan Browns says she had for that is fiction but rather than relegating her to the sidelines as Brown alleges it is noticeable that at the Resurrection which is at the very centre of our Christianity Mary is there. But she is there as a picture of those who have lost a sense of the presence of Christ and who need to find Him.
