SERMON INFO
The words of Jeremiah 31:2 open a door on the unexpected: “Thus saith the Lord, ‘The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest'.”

Almost 600 years before the birth of Jesus, the chosen people of God had been conquered and forced to move from their own land. 

Jeremiah did not forget God's Chosen during their exile. His messages changed in their emphasis. Formerly warnings of doom, his preaching was now full of words of hope and assurance of God's future grace and salvation. 

He promised a return home – and riches in the wilderness!

These were beautiful words for the exiles to hear. 

They are filled with hope and encouragement for every child of the Lord who is going through difficult times ... .
