Hebrews 12 brings a conclusion to the great chapter of faith in Hebrews 11. Now he draws our attention to the gallery of the heroes of the faith and cites them as an encouragement to our Christian walk. But he goes on to give us an even greater incentive. He says of the child of God that he is to run the Christian race with an eye on Christ. He says in Hebrews 12:3 'For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.' It is good to be able to see other men and women who are just like us walk the Christian life. It is encouraging to see those who went through trials and sufferings like us being able to get through and have their names recorded in the gallery of God's heroes of the faith but the greatest incentive you could have to walking the Christian life is to Consider Him
