SERMON INFO
'The Passion Recut' (released Easter 2005), is Mel Gibson's way of introducing his famous movie to a wider and younger audience, many of whom were unable to see the original version because of its 'R' (US), or '18' (UK) classification.

According to The Boston Globe (03/12/2005), 'This one's for the kids, for the squeamish, for those curious about whether a snip here and a snip there will make the controversial opus about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ any less gruelling to watch.'

Apparently, there are about five minutes' worth of trims. On his website Mel Gibson has assured viewers the meaning will remain unchanged.

This simply means that younger, more impressionable minds will be subjected to a film that is, in essence, A Catholic Commercial And Catechism.

Gibson's movie is a flagship for the Roman Catholic Church, leaning heavily on:

Catholic TRADITION ...

• Mysteries of the Rosary
• 14 Stations of the Cross
• Visions of Nun Mystics
• The Shroud of Turin

and promoting Catholic THEOLOGY ...

• The Mass
• Mariolatry.

We need to be aware of its true nature – and instruct our young people accordingly.

[ NB. Pastor Ralph Ovadal, Pilgrim's Covenant Church, Wisconsin, gives a recommendation of my book on The Passion in the Audio Announcement above ].

“ Sermon clarifies my view of movie. ”
This movie was celebrated in the local Protestant churches in what is known as the "Bible Belt." Sermons were preached encouraging its viewing as a powerful testimony about the Lord Jesus Christ. I did not realize its true meaning until after Rev. Brown opened my eyes to the truth! This movie is really in the same league as Jesus Christ Superstar: blasphemy and heresy! I now understand why so many bad things happened to the lead actor during its filming, including being struck by lightening! Great job, Rev. Brown! I wish your sermons could replace 99% of what is being preached in U.S. churches.

“ Great Movie! ”
I thought it was a great movie! [ Ian Brown's Response ]: Thanks for your comment, Stan. Evidently I don't share your enthusiasm. Viewers of this page may wish to take a look at my message on 'The Pope's Favourite Bible Verse?' Under the second main heading I outline the impact Gibson's blatant Mary worship is having on 'evangelical' Protestants ... .

“ Great Sermon! ”
Anyone who goes to see this movie and "pays" to see it needs their head examined! It is blasphemous! It is in no way true to the scriptures. It is embellished with Catholic themes and imagery! The Catholic church is the "Great Whore" of Revelation 17 just like the Reformers taught! Let's see...If a man is a "work-a-holic" he is what? Wholly give to work. If a man is an "alcoholic" he is wholly given to alcohol. If a man is a cat-holic he is wholly given to "cats"!!! Cat is the root word for MOTHER! What did they worship in Alexandria Egypt? Cats! Wonder where the Black musicians got that term from? Calling each other "cat" especially in the Jazz circles? Simple! From the Sphinx silly! Right there in Egypt! The place where "Christians" are to come out of and get away from and be seperate and touch not the unclean thing...(Rev.18:4)Hollywood is full of falsehoods, sin, idolatry, and all kinds of evils no matter how they try to dress it up. Mel Gibson got the "script" for this movie from the ravings of a hellish nun who communicated with devils and unclean spirits! This is not based off of the Bible! That is why it is not titled, "The Passion of The Lord JESUS Christ"! America needs to wake up soon! DANGER AHEAD! THE BRIDGE IS OUT! Get out your Bible and read it!!!

“ The "Book" ”
Have you seen the movie?, yes, what did you think? It's not as good as the "Book" (read The Bible)

“ Great Sermon! ”
The sermon was so encouraging. I felt like an odd ball because I didn't want to see it. Just from the clips I saw on t.v. it looked too graphic. I told people at church when they asked me if I wanted to see it, I said "No, it's too Catholic." Two of my grown daughters saw it and they loved it..... I asked them "Did they show the resurrection?" and they couldn't remember........I said "No thanks" to it. Why do the Catholics want to keep crucifying Jesus?

“ Excellent Presentation! ”
Hear this excellent presentation! This good speaker magnifies the true, risen Christ who is now in heaven, and not just the "earthly Jesus" only...etc. 2 Corinthians 5:16  says..."Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more..." There is "another Jesus" and "another spirit" that is not the True Christ revealed to us in the holy Scriptures alone! Rome is adding to the Word of God in these movies about the "Passion"... because they think that truth can be reduced to just a "story"..etc.
