The story of John Mark is that of the deserter who made good. Having set out with Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary journey, John Mark abandoned the two evangelists in Pamphylia. However, after causing a painful fracture between the two, Mark was later brought back into the fold.
The blessed truth emphasised by this story is that the past can be blotted out – there is a way back to God, and into useful service for Him!
