This battle near the pool of Gibeon was highly unusual in that it amounted to mutual self destruction as each soldier took hold of his opponent and slew him while being slain by him. The place of that battle was given a name "Helkath-hazzurim" which means "Field of Sharp Edges." In this study we contemplate some of the battles Christians fight that are tragic and unnecessary and lead to nothing more than mutual destruction.
