SERMON INFO
The worldwide fraternity of God's people was shocked to discover that the openly homosexual Bishop Gene Robinson, of the New Hampshire diocese [Episcopal Church USA] was requested by Barack Obama to give the invocation prayer at the "We are One" concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on Lord's Day 18th Jan 2009.

Bishop Robinson stated in an interview that "my intention is not to invoke [cite as my authority] the name of Jesus, but to make this a prayer for Christians and non-Christians alike. Although I hold the Scripture to be the word of God, you know those Scriptures are holy to me and to Jews and Christians, but many other faith traditions have their own sacred texts. And so rather than insert that and exclude them from the prayer by doing so, I want this to be a prayer to the god of our many understandings and a prayer that all people of faith can join me in.”

The message that Gene Robinson wanted the world to receive was that God is some kind of ‘common denominator' that links together all world faiths and all kinds of lifestyle, irrespective of what God's Word declares! We must affirm against what Bishop Robinson says, even though he presents himself to the world as one who ‘holds the scripture to be the word of God'; that the Scriptures do not declare God to be a God of ‘our many understandings', nor can any true Child of God join with him in his prayer.
Matt Ch 25:31-41; Eph Ch4:18. Points under consideration will be:

1) That there is no neutrality with God. [v30]

a) Man's Understanding of God.

b) Man's Separation from God.

c) Man's sin, how God views it.

2) That there is mercy with God. [v31].

“ Very Well Said! ”
Speaking as a Baptist in Southern California, I am so impressed with so much rich teaching coming from this particular area of the world. The evangelical church of Northern Ireland (with teachers like Rev. Thompson and Rev. Paisley, others who are now teaching in America) recalls to mind that small Church of Philadelphia which our Lord commended in the Revelation.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I look forward to hearing the Rev Thompson (dv) on this subject on Sunday 25th. It is vital for all to realise the effects of WORDS that will be made at Obama's Inuguration. May God keep us looking to Him in all things in the days that lie ahead.

“ Thank you for preaching the truth. ”
I really appreciate Pastor Thompson preaching on the current Obama administration and the blasphemous events happening in America. I appreciate the objective Biblical preaching and Pastor Thompson's concern for the Christians in our nation.
