The closing scene on Calvary involved the soldier not breaking Christ's legs but piercing His side. With that change of custom the soldier unwittingly fufilled two distinct prophecies of God's word. In this message Rev. Mercer examines another important lesson from this event:
1. Christ is cruelly rejected and despised by men.
2. The wounding of Christ and the flowing of blood and water reveal God's only way of salvation.
3. The wounded side of Christ points to the welcome sinners who come to Christ receive.
