1. Our past justification brings us into the sphere of God's grace
Our past justification affects our present. Being justified is to be in the grace of God. Through Christ's work of redemption, all who believe are brought into a standing of grace.
2. Our past justification is the ground upon which we enjoy present access
Our access is not just to be brought by Christ into the presence of God once and then leave. We must stay there. Our sense of unworthiness to pray must be put to death. To stand silent before the King is a very serious matter. When we are prayerless we deny our privileges.
3. Our future confidence is that we will know the glory of God
Our future prospect affects the present. If we realize that we will always be in God's favor we can look forward to the future.
4. We rejoice in the present
Our past and our future change the present. We can rejoice that this world is not all that there is. Romans 5:2 can have a great impact on the rest of our lives.
