Psalms 104:10, “He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.” What takes place in nature is often a picture of what takes place spiritually. As waters run down into the low places so God’s grace flows down into our fallen world. When God’s people feel themselves in the valley they need not despair, it is the very place where He sends the springs of His grace. Are you in the low place today? Look for and draw from the springs of the Lord’s grace which run there.
“I find myself frequently depressed – perhaps more so than any other person here. And I find no better cure for that depression than to trust in the Lord with all my heart, and seek to realize afresh the power of the peace-speaking blood of Jesus, and His infinite love in dying upon the cross to put away all my transgressions.” (Spurgeon).
