This is a good message, but it doesn’t sound like Alistair Begg! There are several here that don’t seem to be him. I could be wrong, they are good, but you you should correctly attribute a number of these sermons.

Whilst I can read your pain in your post - is this not the case of all Christians married to non-Christians.
I too am married to a non-believer, in my case it is my wife, after thirty seven years I can asure you it is a difficult and painful existence.
But are we also not called to live as strangers in this world? Strangers who do not belong, nor even think like our neighbour does?

1Cor 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Also.......
Matt 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Whilst these may not exactly console you always in your circumstance, they do show that we Christians are all in the same boat, (called persecution) in this world.

"The doctrine of the perseverance of the saints does not maintain that all those who profess the Christian faith are certain of heaven. It is saints - those who are set apart by the Spirit - who persevere to the end. It is believers - those who are given true, living faith in Christ - who are secure and safe in Him. Many who profess to believe fall away, but they do not fall from grace for they were never in grace. True believers do fall into temptations, and they do commit grievous sins, but these sins do not cause them to lose their salvation or separate them from Christ. The Westminster Confession of Faith gives the following statement on this doctrine:"

In TULIP, The Doctrines of Grace the P is for Perseverence.
The Arminian/free will hypothesis will immediately jump onto this being a human ability. The reason for this is their predilection with salvation by human contribution, otherwise their god can't save anyone.

The True Christian however, knows that we can fully trust in God to bring us unto salvation and not rely on the sinners weak and impoverished effort to convince God. The promises in Scripture teach this truth. Where God has begun a good work HE doesn't give up. (Which will be a surprise to some of our contributors apparently).

Thus Perseverence is about God, by the Holy Spirit, fullfilling a promise, begun at the foundation of creation where God predestined some to eternal life in heaven.

Calvinists stand on the Word of God eg: Rom 8:28-39 proves that God WILL save the born again.
