Insightful Sermon! I always thought about Paul and his praying about removing his thorn, and I didn't realize that God's Grace was his answer though not a removal. I can now look on our problems and illnesses as having a different message for us, and that it should draw us closer to God and find blessing in handling our own thorn. I pray to Christ Jesus that I can look at my problems as God wants me to look at them, and find the blessing that is in there.
Great Sermon! In a day and age where liberalism abounds it is refreshing to hear that some still have high standards for choosing and appointing elders, deacons etc. to office.
Good teaching from start to finish outlining the high standards such men must live by.
Great Series All the messages in this series are practically useful, convicting and edifying.
The word by word teaching is sound, sharp and beneficial. Congregations following such standards and approach will undoubtedly prosper and be blessed. Many thanks.
Valuable biblical understanding It is special to find Christians taking on a stand for separation from worldliness nowadays. Applying the characteristics of the two kind of wisdoms presented in the Bible would go along way to help the disciple discern and approve matters for his/her Christian life. Thank you
Overlooked perceptions This sermon links the dysfunctional family setting in Joseph’s early life with the fortitude of character displayed during his lonely years in Egypt.
It brings valuable challenges against parent’s duties. Also it fosters personal trust in God’s works of providence ordaining all the events fashioning the fabric of our lives. Useful and remarkable.
Stimulating message This meditation on the vision given to the prophet Amos in chapter 7:1-3 is captivating. In spite of a slow start, it leads to the compelling reality of interceding on behalf of God’s work before total ruin takes place, leaving the listener in the culminating note of God calling a halt of judgment when saying: “It shall not be, saith the LORD”
Significant and relevant Indirectly in this presentation, Dr. Cairns underlines the need for the pulpits of today to be delivered from destructive and ineffective sermonizing! May our 21st century pulpits recover the unique life-giving expository teaching that edifies and converts the soul.
Sobering Sermon Thank you for being a courageous church body and for preaching to the Apostasy that is consuming the "Visible" church. Often times, sincere believers who are troubled by the worldliness and the apostasy of this age, are criticized as "legalistic" or divisive, when they are seeking to honor the Lord in EVERY area of life. It is reassuring to me that other true Christians across the globe are seeking to honor God according to His word. I listen to the Free Presbyterian sermons, quite a lot and am blessed immensely.
Comforting. This a very good message about bad pastors, about pastors after God's heart and about our Great Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ. Encouraging and comforting message.
