In considering these distinctives we desire to continue standing where our founding fathers stood. We have no desire to alter one iota of any of the foundational beliefs and practices of the FPC.
There is one final distinctive that we want to consider. It is that of being a working, labouring church.
All these others distinctives are of no use if we are not a working church. We will just sink down into a dead orthodoxy where we dot the 'i's and stroke the 't's and that's all we are interested in.
We want to be a working Church. We must be such or else our beliefs and practices are worthless.
If what we believe doesn't get us up and active for the Lord then there is something wrong with what we believe!
Consider: 1. The concept of a labouring Church 2. The character of a labouring Church 3. The challenge of being a labouring Church
