Today we live in an age of mass communication by which messages can be broadcast around the world in a matter of seconds. Not only are there messages but there are sounds and images which also can be broadcast to people in magazines and television and computers and MP3 players and mobile phones and a myriad of different ways that were not dreamed of 100 years ago never mind in the days of Paul. By those means there are all sorts of false teachings and false notions that are being circulated in this age. We live in a day in which the opinions of people are being rapidly changed. If you were to take opinion survey among people about social attitudes and morality 30 years ago and one today you would find a radical transformation has taken place in the attitudes of people. And those attitudes have by and large been in a direction that has gone away from Biblical standards. We lament the decline in morals and we lament the lack of respect towards other people and the increase in violence. We also lament the complete indifference that seems to have gripped people as far as the gospel is concerned. There are many other lands in the world where this is not so but here there is such an overwhelming indifference. We might ask ourselves why this is so. Could I suggest that evil communications have gone a long way to corrupting good manners?
