1. sight (1:23-24) - "These see the works of the Lord" By sight, we see are able to see God's wonderful works. Our sight gives us a reminder that we should marvel at what God has made and thank Him for His wonderful works. Sight is a gift of God and one of his wonderful works
2. storms (1:25) - "For he...raiseth the stormy wind" Storms are one of the wonderful works of God. God sends the storms. Men are deists or at least practical deists. Away with the notion that God controls the storms but not your circumstances.
3. submission (1:25-26) God uses the storm to bring us into submission. He makes our soul to melt. He makes us reel to and fro. He is bringing us into submission. Submission of our hearts is one of God's wonderful works.
4. supplication (1:28) - "Then they cry unto the Lord" Prayer allows us to come to see the wonderful works of God. Don't give up on prayer. God uses trials to make us pray. Prayer is one of God's wonderful works.
5. serenity (1:28b-30) - "he bringeth them out of their distresses" He is merciful to bring us out of our distresses and faithful to take us unto our desired haven. Peace in trials is one of the wonderful works of God.
6. singing (1:30-31) - "Then they are glad" The wonderful works of God make us glad. His wonderful works of mercy lead us to praise the Lord. Praise is one of God's wonderful works.
