SERMON INFO
We want today to come to consider the companions for worship. These companions are designed to be 'helps' to us. God has ordained these companions/helps to assist us in worshipping Him in the beauty of holiness.

We certainly need all the help we can obtain. We are marred by sin and spiritual infirmity. We can be lack lustre about worshipping the Lord. We need assistance. Thankfully God in His mercy and grace has given us certain 'helps' that are to be viewed as the companions of worship to assist us.

These companions or 'helps' are of two sorts:
[1] Firstly, there are the sacraments which have been instituted by the Lord Himself to assist us in worshipping Him. There are two New Testament sacraments, namely, baptism and the Lord's supper.
[2] Secondly there is the sabbath day. Again something specifically instituted by the Lord to assist His earthly creatures in the worship of His holy Name. There is one day in seven commissioned by the Lord, which is to be set aside for the worship of God and for nothing else. It is a day which is to belong, in its entirety, to God.

Being a communion sabbath day we will commence with the first category of 'helps' that God has given, namely, the sacraments. We will seek to consider both baptism and the Lord's supper.
