When there was so much to do in reestablishing life in the world that had been remade by the Flood, Noah devoted his time and energy to building an altar first and to offering sacrifices upon it. He was indicating that with all that had changed in the world, there were other things that had not changed. Noah and his family had brought the sinful legacy of the old world to the new world in their own souls. There would continue to be only one way in which to approach God, and that must be on the ground of the blood atonement. There is a wonderful unity between the message that Noah preached in the years when he was building the ark and the message that he would preach in the years after the Flood. Salvation comes in only one way, and that is through the blood of the sacrifice, the Lord Jesus Christ.
