SERMON INFO
Sorry for uploading the wrong sermon. Correct one now in place.

Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, recently preached a sermon at Guildford Cathedral entitled: 'The Finality of Christ in a Pluralist World'.

The Dean of Guildford afterwards praised the Archbishop as 'a teacher who is prepared to wrestle with difficult issues in front of us'.

The Archbishop opened his remarks by quoting two passages of Scripture; John 14:5,6 & Acts 4:8-13.

He forthwith called them: 'two heavily charged texts', and stated that from them comes: 'the classic Christian conviction - what we encounter in Jesus Christ is simply the truth'.

Rowan Williams expressed his unhappiness with the clear implications of what these texts state.

His objections were threefold:
[1] Moral
[2] Political
[3] Philosophical

It was subsequently reported that in his address the Archbishop defended the uniqueness and finality of Christ.

It is this fact that we want to challenge. He could only be said to have defended the uniqueness of Christ by re-interpreting the texts.
