Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. As such, He truly can be called the God of the future. In this message, we look at this God of the future in whom we can trust
1. Jesus Christ knows the future
- "ye shall find a colt" (11:2)
- how does he know the future?
(a) he is God (Isaiah 9:6)
(b) he brings it to pass (Isaiah 46:9-11)
- He can be truly called the God of the future
2. Jesus Christ sends you into the future
- "Go your way into the village" (11:2)
- he has the authority to send you (11:28)
- he did not tell the disciples why he was sending them
- he does not always tell us why he is sending us
3. Jesus Christ gives you wisdom to go into the future
- "and if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? Say..."
- it looked like they were stealing and could be stoned
- Christ provides wisdom so that this would not happen
4. Christ sends us to glorify Himself
- people commit suicide because they have no purpose
- our purpose as believers is to glorify God
- "Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord" (11:9)
- It may not be apparent today the purpose for what you are doing right now
- even the mundane things that are done (like borrowing a colt) can be used to glorify God
5. We can trust in this one who is the God of the future
- he will send us to the right place and to the right people at the right time |
