After just more than a year on the ark, Noah and his family received the command of God to depart from it and to begin their lives in the world that God had remade through the waters of judgment. They encountered circumstances that were very much different than any they had ever known. The sky had a much different look than it had ever had before. The environment was much harsher, whether talking about the weather or the frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Shelter and warm clothing would be much greater issues in the new world than Noah and his family had ever known before. They had to depend on the Word of God then, more than they had ever relied on it before. Of course, the ultimate legacy that they brought with them to the new world was sin and the only way of salvation.
