SERMON INFO
Peter's question in this text – Matthew 19:27 – sets us into right thinking as we bring this year to a close.
Peter's question was: "What shall we have therefore."
This is the first time that this question has been posed to the Lord so directly. The disciples left all and followed the Lord. Already they had made many sacrifices to be followers of the Lord Jesus.
They knew it was the right thing to do. They knew it would cost them, but now after the Lord spent considerable time talking about the rich and the obstacles they face as disciples dedicated to following the Lord.
The Lord doesn't rule out the rich. He states that it is much more difficult to give up great earthly riches than for the ordinary person who has fewer things typing him to this life.
