The Lord says, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: There are some people who would deny that the Lord Jesus ever claims to be God in the gospels. We only have to think of a mighty statement like this to realise what He did claim. He was saying to Martha that resurrection and life were not gifts he had to seek or even things he had to create but that He himself was the resurrection and the Life. Poor Martha was looking to the sky for life or looking into the grave for resurrection when the Resurrection stood before her smiling at her and cheering her heavy heart. And so what I want to do today is to introduce you to the One who truly is the Resurrection and the Life
