    “ Great Sermon! ”
I don't think God needs to borrow anything from Paganism for His Glory. When Abraham was told to leave Ur, he left Ur. Jesus warned "Remember Lot's wife" Are we suffering Halloween withdrawal so much that we have to hang on to it even if it means reinventing Satan's holiday? We are warned about a little leaven....if we want to use Oct 31 as a day to reach the lost children, go out into the streets and hand them Chick tracts. We are never told by Jesus or the Bible to go into the world an to indulge in pagan rituals while we spread the Gospel. With that perspective, why not go into the bar, sit down and have some beers and share the Gospel?

    “ Interesting Sermon! ”
Any Christian who hasn't SERIOUSLY studied the issue of Halloween should listen to this sermon because at the very least, Christians should have reasons for doing what they do. This sermon does a terrific job of pointing out some of the evil that takes place on Halloween (but this would seem to argue for Christians to be cautious on this day, since evil happens every single day of the year--like drunk driving on Christmas). Interestingly, he also offers Scriptures that would counter the idea that we ought to have nothing to do with Halloween whatsover, acknowledging the "other side" somewhat but ultimately not agreeing with them. But what the preacher does not address here, however, is the perspective of some Christians who use Halloween to witness and to "mock" the pagan gods of modern people. It would have been interesting to know what Rev. Dane thinks about that. This is an issue Christians should debate, but not divide over. In that Spirit, Christians may also wish to listen to "Halloween -- 1999," by Tim Bourgeois also on Sermon Audio at ermoninfo.asp?currSection=&serm onID=1119032177
