Good news! My husband is a Tool and Die Maker and has been saying for years there aren't enough skilled workers in his field. In fact, he's been wondering who will take his place when he retires in 2020. (Heads up, Gen Z - there's jobs available in the machinist industry.)

From what I can tell, this has been under-reported! I'm glad SermonAudio and Baptist Press covered it. It's something Christians need to be aware of and keep an eye on.

I agree with The Quiet Christian... Tyrannical states always seek to be worshiped as a god and won't tolerate allegiance to King Jesus.

When I first heard of this young man's death, I was reminded of Jim Elliot who also went to an unkown primitive tribe to share the Good News and was killed by tribesmen. From what I've read, his wife went back with other missionaries and many have become Christians from that tribe. I don't think this young man was seeking thrills when he went as the 2nd paragraph of the article posted above says he did his homework, prepared and studied the tribe before going. Friends, I think his work will stand or fall before the Lord and we should refrain from passing judgment. Only the Lord knows what fruit his attempt at evangelization of a primitive tribe will produce.

Your post reminds me of Alan Cairns preaching on the subject "Going Down to Egypt for Help".
Of course the gist of the message is that he is against it.
I think I'll give it a listen this morning. Thanks!

Friends, if you want to be truly free, don't take government money to support your schools or ministries. If the good Lord doesn't provide, then perhaps you should "rethink" whether you're on the right course. I pray this example in Alberta will be a wake-up call to Christians everywnere.

God's Word is proven true:

14 Behold, the wicked man conceives evil
and is pregnant with mischief
and gives birth to lies.
15 He makes a pit, digging it out,
and falls into the hole that he has made.
16 His mischief returns upon his own head,
and on his own skull his violence descends. (Psalm 7 ESV)

Well, Angela, at least you know you can always apply for a job at Harvard and check off the 'Native American' box when it asks for origin.
Warren did that and then Harvard boasted of her making their faculty more diverse!
LOL! Seriously, doing something like that never crossed my mind. I would think that even the most naive person would know they should have documentation to back up such a claim; Warren should let the matter drop and stop embarrassing herself and her family.

I am also of Native American descent on my father's side which would not be revealed in DNA testing. It's my understanding that it is only through the mother's side that a certain marker is passed on. (I'm not an expert, please feel free to correct me.) But neither have I used my NA heritage for any special consideration or privilege as I have never lived on a reservation or been part of that culture. This is really much ado about nothing, IMO.

While reading the headline my hopes were high, but when I read the first few paragraphs, they were dashed due to the Charismatic slant it appears the news will have. How sad - can we please get a sound Christian broadcaster to provide solid news from a Biblical worldview without all the hype? Thanks.

Hi Cora, I'm very sorry about what happened to you in your youth. I pray the good Lord will heal your emotional scars. I just want to caution you to not blame all men for the actions of a few. And to remind you that if we are in Christ, then the color of our skin doesn't matter - it's the condition of our heart that is important.

For those thinking about end of life issues, please read this Christian commentary regarding "physician assisted suicide" which our death culture appears to be embracing: ]]https://www.christianpost.com/voice...

My stepmother recently passed away and it was a terrible experience for her and the family... She was on palliative/hospice care and I watched her struggle with death; it was not a death with dignity. When my mother had cancer 20 years ago and the doctors wanted to put her on hospice, I refused. She died a peaceful, dignified death in the hospital. My 83 yr old father is still alive and I'll do the same for him when the time comes.

Calvinists infiltrate SBC; membership levels off. Calvinists reach majority status in SBC; membership declines. Calvinists take over SBC; churches die. Calvinist/reformed churches are dying everywhere, but somehow I am expected to believe that they are "evangelistic." Do the math. Evangelistic churches grow. Calvinistic churches decline and ultimately die.
I hope you aren't serious, but in case you are, please let me assure you that the kingdom of God is as a small mustard seed that will grow and eventually fill the earth. Calvinists are not only evangelistic, we are defenders of the truth and students of the Bible.

Where was Christ in his sermon? And the choir singing "Stand By Me" in a church??? I'm sorry, but America revealed how shallow the black church has become if this is what they preach and sing in Worship. May God forgive us.

Thanks. This story is so bizarre that one never knows if things being said are in jest or seriousness.

Connor7 wrote: "It's all an attack on the IFB church and the KJV. Calvinists are probably involved in this scheme as well, because Calvinism was thought up by that Devil whose name in the Greek is Apollyon but in English is called John Calvin." ???? I've never heard of such strange things - is this a joke or satire? If so, please explain the punchline to me, if there is one.
